I’m going to give you some negative advice, how to not pick a good running shoe on today’s episode of The MOVEMENT Movement podcast.  I think it’s important to know how not to do things in order to inform how to do things. Even when I’m teaching people how to run naturally or run barefoot, I’ll often have them exaggerate bad patterns because that way it really highlights what that pattern is and makes it easier to start doing something different.

I’m Steven Sashen from XeroShoes.com, your host of The MOVEMENT Movement podcast, where we’re creating a movement about natural movement.

  1. Hello,
I really like comparing “natural food” with “natural movement”. Beside being accurate it links with an existing and wider movement that is hard to argue against.
I like the video but think a slightly faster pace would improve attractiveness.
    Keep on the good job!

  2. I really felt the difference in the sensory foot compared to the one which was not being used to pick up sensation from the object. it was almost like there was a disconnect between the brain (the non-sensory foot felt ‘numb?) and the non-sensory foot. The sensory foot (used to touch and feel the object) felt alert (omg). Weird! But makes perfect sense in context with what you were saying Steven.
